· Participating Countries ·

Argentina · Venezuela · Dominican Republic · Spain · Colombia · Paraguay = 6 COUNTRIES

· Participating Artists ·
Carolina Sardi · Jorge Salas · Miguel Gomez · Esperanza Gonzalez · Maria Navas · Oscar Centurion = 6 ARTISTS

· ARGENTINA ·
Carolina Sardi earned her Master's Degree in Sculpture at the National University of La Plata, in her country of Argentina. Along with Sculpture, she also studied Architecture and Urbanism at NULP with artist Enio Iommi. Sardi’s works are held by private, public and corporate collectors in the United States, Europe and Latin America; and her work can be found in the collections of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and Art Museum of the Americas in Washington DC, Museum of Art of Fort Lauderdale, among others.

· VENEZUELA ·
Born in 1954 in La Grita, Táchira State, Jorge Salas is one of the leading South American artists working in organic abstraction, based on the Escuela del Sur, led by the late pioneer Joaquín Torres García. Salas integrates wood, stone, marble, minerals or any organic material creating grid-like art forms, where the materials intertwine into semi-abstract creations. Characteristic of Constructivism, the concepts of “geometry, synthesis, construction and rhythm” play a role in his work without losing each natural element’s texture and feeling. His present artistic expression draws attention to “Americana: Mickey Mouse, an icon of the American Culture”.

· DOMINICAN REPUBLIC ·
Miguel Gomez was born in Santo Domingo in 1954, Gomez attended the National School of Fine Arts and graduated in 1983 as a drawing teacher. From 1983, he taught at the Candido Bido Art Center and conducted seminars for painters at the Dominican American Cultural Institute. His frenetic scenes define morphology through the use of light and movement. Gomez relies heavily on his Afro-Caribbean roots as his works vibrate with emotion and are activated by personal experience. His paintings pay homage to the color, the dance and the carnival culture of his Caribbean isle. Miguel Gomez stands as one the premier Caribbean artist to exhibit outside of his native islands. His works have been featured in over eighty exhibitions in the Caribbean, Latin America and the United States.

· SPAIN ·
Born in Madrid, Spain in 1954, Esperanza González Perlado, started her studies at the age of 16 attending the National School of Fine Arts de San Fernando in Madrid and graduated in 1976 specializing in Painting. Private, public and corporate collectors in various cities of Europe and United States hold González Perlado’s works. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions for the past 30 years. Her works were selected to represent the Spanish avant-garde art in the Expo-88 in Brisbane (Australia). Some of her works are exhibited in the permanent exhibition of “The Abstract Mind Mural” shown at Museum of Science and Industry of Chicago.

· COLOMBIA ·
María Navas, lives and works in Bogotá, where she received her Architect’s Degree and studied Art at Universidad de los Andes. She presents us with a landscape proposal with a modern twist. Her work does not offer a representation of reality, but a recognizable idea of it. It is a super-contemporary reinvention of romantic landscape. Depth and perspectives are implied and through abstraction, landscape is camouflaged in order to survive. With a very personal aesthetic approach, Navas shows the vision of an artist preoccupied with the excessive growth of the city and the future of mankind. Maria Navas is one of Colombia’s emergent artists, exhibiting in Bogotá, Panama and Miami. Her work makes part of private and corporate collections in South America as well as Switzerland, UK, Germany, Spain and the USA.

· PARAGUAY ·
Oscar Centurión is a preservation architect and a painter. Along with architectural conservation, he also studied painting with the artist Livio Abramo. He uses acrylic paints, and mixed techniques on canvas, cardboard and other different types of support. Since 1989, his works have been featured in individual and group exhibits, and are held by private, public and corporate collections, in Paraguay and in other countries of the Americas, and in Europe. In the United States, he participated in the DC Party Animals public arts project, in 2002, and he exhibited at the Washburn University Art Gallery (Topeka, KS), in 2008. He has extensive experience in commissions of large size art works and public art projects, in his native Asuncion, and also in Washington, DC.
